For years now, Al and Terry Reszel have been crisscrossing the country in support of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). While the starting point for each ride has varied over the years, the destination was always the same, the global headquarters of the BCRF in New York City. However, the 2023 Pink Pedals For A Cure | Terry’s Ride will end outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a state they have called home for 28 years. This will be the sixth time Al has attempted an extended multi-state solo bicycle ride for the BCRF. An amazing feat when you consider that Al will be 64 years old when he begins the 2023 ride. In the spring of 2023, Al Reszel will embark yet again on another BCRF heartfelt journey to help find a cure. Leaving the Florida Keys in early April, Al will travel north through 11 states, riding 3,500 miles in all, arriving outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, 43 days later. By ending the 2023 ride in their home state, Al and Terry have the opportunity to share this tremendous effort and experience with family and friends in the region. Since 2016, Al and Terry have traveled 16,600 miles and raised over $43,000 for breast cancer research.
Many people may not know this, but there is an actual route for bicycling around the world, which is a total of 18,000 miles. So, when Al completes 1,400 miles of this year’s 3,500-mile ride, he will have ridden the equivalent of riding his bicycle around the world 18,000 miles for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
